Reflection
In classrooms where assessment for learning is practiced, students know at the outset of a unit of study what they are expected to learn. At the beginning of the unit, the teacher will work with the student to understand what she or he already knows about the topic as well as to identify any gaps or misconceptions. As the unit progresses, the teacher and student work together to assess the student’s knowledge, what she or he needs to learn to improve and extend this knowledge, and how the student can best get to that point.
In our module, I've learned the types of test. These are binary test, completion test, multiple choice test and matching type test. I've learned the strategy on how to condstruct this type of test.
True or false
Every part of a true sentence must be "true"
If any one part of the sentence is false,
the whole sentence is false despite many other true statements. I learned that true or false test was appropriate for all levels of cognitive ability. I also learned that as a future teacher we must use simple, direct language in declarative sentences and avoid unfamiliar vocabulary and concepts in making this kind of test.
Completion Test
I've learned that this test assesses our vocabulary as we will need to know what the
words mean in order to fill in the sentences correctly. We are
currently still at the development stage of the test. In order to
complete test development we need as many people's responses as
possible. Once we have completed test development we will be able to
give accurate feedback to participants and use the test in a number of
settings. At present we are not yet able to tell you precisely how
well you performed compared to others. You will, however, receive an
overall score when you have finished the test.
Multiple Choice Test
I"ve learned that in making prepare better multiple choice test since I'm now currently having an ED103, first is to distinguish between objectives which can be appropriately assessed by using multiple choice items and objectives which would be better assessed by some other means.Second is to evaluate existing multiple-choice items by using commonly-accepted criteria to identify
specific flaws in the items.
Third is improve poorly-written multiple-choice items by correcting the flaws they contain.
and in making this type of test we construct well-written multiple-choice items that measure given objectives.
I thank Prof. Dr. Robles for the knowledge she have shared with me and also for her patient and sacrifice just to thought the assessment learning to make me a better future teacher someday.
